What is Stripe?

Stripe is a secure online payment platform that is recognized worldwide. It enables you to collect, manage, and transfer payments made by customers directly to your bank account.

Why do I need to create a Stripe account?

For legal and security reasons, we cannot transfer customers' payments directly to your bank account.

Creating a Stripe account allows you to:

- receive your payments securely;

- verify your identity in compliance with financial regulations (KYC);

- benefit from enhanced fraud protection.

Without an active Stripe account, it is impossible to payout payments from your sales.

Note: a Stripe account is not a bank account. It is only an account that links us to your bank.

Is creating the Stripe account mandatory?

Yes, if your country is eligible for Stripe. If you want to sell and be paid on our platform, you must have a Stripe account linked to your Selency account.

For some nationalities, it is not possible to open a Stripe account. If this is your case, please contact our team via the contact form

Is it free?

Yes, creating a Stripe account is completely free.

How do I create my Stripe account?

1. Go to your seller space in "My shop"

2. Click on “Receive my payments”

3. Click on "Create my account" and fill in the required information depending on whether you are an individual or a business:

- personal or professional information,

- identity verification,

- adding your bank account

Once the setup is complete, your account will be automatically linked to our platform and you will be able to receive your payments. Activation is usually immediate, but Stripe may request additional information.

What happens if I don’t create a Stripe account?

Your payments will remain pending and no payout can be made.
